Stories From The Head

Vahid's Stomach

Vahid had eaten a lot. First, he had eaten a huge apple, and then, yet another apple. And finally, a man he had found in a pedestrian crossing. Vahid was really, really stuffed. So he started walking. He walked down the street until he reached "the zone". (Everyone should know the consequences of entering "the zone" without his carrying his passport.) The guard, a masterfully carved midget, blocked the entrance: "Thou shalt not pass", he said, "unless you are able to answer three questions!" "Let's have'em!", Vahid replied. But the guard, Luhullu Mændrikk, did not understand Swedish, and therefore asked four questions. Here are four questions:

1: Why did the biktek cross the løt?

2: Who had pekkatin in the hæppu?

3: What did the biktek store in the hæppu?

4: Where did the biktek store the pekkatin?

However, these questions had nothing to do with the ones Vahid had to answer. Vahid namely had to answer the following questions:

1: How many apples have you eaten?

2: How many apples have you NOT eaten?

3: Where did you find the man?

4: Why did the biktek cross the løt?

When being presented question number 2, Vahid had already fallen asleep. (That is, question number 2 in the first column.) He woke up, finding himself in the midst of a transplantation: An apple was being connected to his "thing" (that is, to his stomach), which reminded him he was incredibly hungry. "Damn, I'm still outside "the zone"", he said to himself. But was he?
