Stories From The Head

Check Your Eggs

Fluor shook his head. Why, he did not know. Maybe it was because it felt good, or perhaps the reason was that he was unable to go shopping. Fluor stopped thinking of WHY he shook his head, and continued DOING the business. Fluor stopped shaking his head. He had now forgotten the reason why he was doing it He decided to go shopping at the local K-Mart. Fluor found all the groceries he needed: Eggs. Many eggs. After paying for the eggs, Fluor felt broke. Fluor felt used. Used by K-Mart. Used by the woman behind the counter. Fluor had changed his mind: He didn’t want the eggs. He screamed at the top of his lungs at Ursul, the woman behind the counter. ”I WANT MY MONEY BACK. HERE ARE YOUR STUPID WHITE EGGS. TAKE THEM. I HATE EGGS. I HATE EGGS, YOU TAKE ’EM OR I’LL MAKE YOU SUFFER, YOU BITCH. THE EGGS BELONG TO YOU, AND THE MONEY YOU’VE STOLEN AND PUT IN YOUR POCKET BELONGS TO ME. GIVE THEM TO ME. DON’T YOU UNDERSTAND? I WANT MY MONEY BACK. I HATE EGGS. THE EGGS ARE YOURS. EGGS ARE MY ENEMY. I HATE EGGS. REMOVE THE EGGS FROM MY MIND. BLOW THE EGGS AWAY FROM MY WORLD. I WANT MY MONEY BACK. THE EGGS BELONG TO YOU. DON’T YOU UNDERSTAND?” The guards took Fluor away before he could put his hands on Ursul, but what he didn’t know was that she HAD understood him....
