Poems From The Head

A Madman’s Prayer

Hear me out, oh hear me out

I am a man, without a doubt

I have desires, I have my quirks

Sick or not, for me it works

Hear no evil, do no wrong

Where the hell do I belong?

I maim and kill, then go to bed

And wish to God that I was dead

I cry, I howl, I sleep, and then

I brush my teeth and start again

Your worthless lives are mine to take

My will is strong, it will not break

So if you find me, by and by

You have to kill me, I need to die

I know you’re listening, you must be shocked

I bet your gun’s already cocked

My actions I cannot defend

But if you wish for them to end

It’s your responsibility

To the best of your ability

To take my life, to end it all

So come on over, have a ball

Don’t think I won’t defend my life

I have my gun, I have my knife

So one of us is at an end

I pray to God it’s me, my friend

Have no fear, your heart is true

But hurry, please

I long for you…
